IronLog · Last updated October 8, 2026

In short: your training data lives on your phone. An account is optional; if you create one, a backup is kept so you can sync and restore. We collect basic, aggregated usage statistics to improve the app. We don’t show ads and we never sell your data.

Who we are

IronLog is developed by Kaan Çavdar, Istanbul, Türkiye (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, email kaan@kaancavdar.com.

Data that stays on your device

Workouts, routines, plans, body weight, measurements, exercise notes and settings are stored on your device. Progress photos are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device; they are never uploaded, backed up or synced. Reminders and rest-timer notifications are scheduled locally on your device.

If you create an account

An account is optional. You can sign in with Apple, Google or an email address and password. Authentication is provided by Google Firebase Authentication. When you have an account we store:

DataWhy
Email address, display name, sign-in method, app languageTo identify your account, send account emails (verification, password reset) and show your name in the app.
Account dates (created, last seen) and your marketing-email choiceTo manage your account and respect your email preference. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in.
Email domain (for example “gmail.com”) and whether it is a school addressTo prevent abuse with disposable addresses and, in the future, to offer student pricing.
A backup of your training data (workouts, routines, plans, body weight, measurements, notes, settings) and in-app usage countersTo sync between your devices and restore your data on a new phone.

This data is stored with Google Cloud Firestore (Google Firebase). Access is restricted by security rules so that only you, signed in to your account, can read or write it.

Usage statistics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used, for example “a workout was started” or “a set was completed”, and on which plan (free, account, Pro). When you create an account we record the sign-in method and your email domain, never the full address. Firebase Analytics may collect device information such as model, operating system version, country and an app-instance identifier. We use these statistics only in aggregate to improve IronLog.

App integrity

To protect our backend from abuse we use Firebase App Check, which asks Apple (App Attest / DeviceCheck) or Google (Play Integrity) to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the app. This does not give us personal information.

Purchases

If you buy IronLog Pro, payment is handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details; we only receive confirmation that you have an active subscription.

Service providers

These providers may process data in countries other than your own, under their own safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep data

Account and backup data are kept while your account exists. Deleted workouts and records are removed from the backup; a small deletion marker may remain for up to 180 days so other devices don’t restore them. Data on your device stays until you delete it or remove the app.

Your choices and rights

Health information

Body weight, measurements and training logs can relate to your health. You enter this information voluntarily; it is used only to show your progress and, if you have an account, to back it up. IronLog does not give medical advice.

Children

IronLog is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We’ll update this page when the app’s data practices change and show the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
